The Queen of Seasons- Fall Colour

Though an year is divided into four seasons-Fall,Winter,Spring,Summer; having lived all my life in Chennai- all that "Singara" Chennai's weather has given me to see is Hot, Hotter, Hottest...with humidity that equally shoots up with the mercury. One can just see a wee-bit of fall during July-August with already dried up trees withering their parched brown leaves. I would now consider it quite inappropriate to even term Dec-Jan as marghazhi(Tamil for Winter) having seen the real winter.

These few years here in US of A has opened my eyes to the true,alluring beauty of seasons. One gets to appreciate with the change of season, the nature's enthralling powers. The main theme that i would correlate with nature being "Change is the flavor of life". It is so very interesting to follow this regular cycle of seasons year after year -to see the same old piece of land transfiguring itself from time to time- the ability to shed and bury the past and re-surrect

My subject of watch being the Campus Green Lawn and the near by woods. By far, I would always continue to rate Fall as the best season of all. The trees adorn such beauty,elegance, though an ephemeral one; accentuating its not so for demise in the winter. The Indian Deciduous forest is certianly no match for the whatever kind of vegetation US is supposed to have (my poor geography!).

I was madly in love with the onset of fall season when I first initially landed here. It heralds the not-so far winter-the most gloomiest season of all forcing u to stay indoors all the time; all the more making one cherish and relish the greenery around- trees of different hues and colors - flaming orange the best of all to yellowish-green to canary yellow to the dull dried brown. I had always wondered about the scientific explanation of the nature's secret formula in adorning such beautiful colors, having missed abt it in my schooling and I finally managed to look it up online...The chilling temperature in the months of Sept-Nov, is supposed to reduce the photosynthesis process robbing the greenery of the leaves, fading the green chlorophyll.

The rustle of the leaves blowing with the heavy wind as you walk on the sidewalks-tempting you to rake the ground with your shoes, producing even more noise- they r just music to my ears...the little bit chilly wind forcing you to adapt yourself to wear a jacket and the not so warm sunshine exemplifying the beauty of this season.

Though Spring, a subject of talk of all great poets of nature that symbolizes a new breathe of life with fresh and fragnant flowers and bright green leaves, it hasn't fasicanted me as much as Fall season has. May be because I have never seen all my life till I came here, the real Fall season.

Ever Since my second year, I take my time off to get myself lost in the peaceful,serene nature's beauty with a walk through the woods, futilely trying to capture the beauty of fall in my dear camera. Its hard to imagine , capture in few shots or video what it is to see trees embelleshed like a princess draped in such flamboyant,flaming fall colors.

For those of who have a chance and aren't sparing enough moments to realize the magical powers of nature-----a piece of advice to cheer up the dead cells glued to the computer and to relieve the tiered eyes from its claustrophobia -----Go, pamper urself with a few tranquellizing moments in the midst of open sky..open air...

Up! up! my Friend, and quit your books;
Or surely you'll grow double:
Up! up! my Friend, and clear your looks;
Why all this toil and trouble?

The sun, above the mountain's head,
A freshening lustre mellow
Through all the long green fields has spread,
His first sweet evening yellow.
